40 years ago I started riding a bike, and it has become an obsession ever since. If I wasn't in school, work, or had family obligations, I would be riding my bmx bike in circles in the yard, building jumps, venturing off to find the next ledge to grind.
Riding was my escape and biggest passion.
As I got older I moved to mountain bikes. The excitement of fast downhills and further exploration really excited me. The high speed carving through the woods, met with a few jumps along the way, reignited the passion I had as a kid.
With that, I realized that the challenge of technical features enticed me even more than the high speed "grab and go" fun. The challenge of conquering a rocky climb, steep rock roll, or balance line brought me back to my street bmx days of wanting to session and play.
This introduced me to the world of Slow Speed Technical riding.
To better understand the fundamentals of this style, I turned to the best in the business; Jeff Lenosky and his Trail Boss Academy.
Through those lessons, I not only grew as a technical rider, but it opened the doors for overall comfort in any situation.
The fundamental riding techniques of body position, balance, and proper bike-body separation are the basis of all forms of riding.
Through those clinics and private lessons, I was able to progress in understanding and confidence which allowed me to join as a coach in the academy and now offer the same lessons to others who find themselves in my spot a few years back.
So if you're looking to feel more confident on a bike, reach out to me direct or through the Trail Boss Academy. We would love to help you!
